Cookie Policy

Effective September 5, 2026 · Latchkey · Portland, Oregon · hello@latchkey-app.com

1 The short version

The Latchkey app and every signed-in area use no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. What we store in your browser is the minimum needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Our public marketing pages (the homepage, pricing and the contractor directory) use one third-party tool: a Meta advertising-measurement pixel, so we can tell whether our own ads bring people to the site. It never loads inside the app or after you sign in, and you can block it with any content blocker without affecting Latchkey.

2 What we store and why

  • Authentication tokens (local storage): keep you signed in between visits. Removed on sign-out.
  • Preferences (local storage): your language choice and in-progress wizard drafts, so a half-finished lease or job post survives a refresh.
  • Payment session data: Stripe sets its own cookies during checkout for security and fraud prevention; see Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Anonymous usage analytics (Vercel Analytics): aggregate page-view counts without cross-site tracking.

3 Managing them

Because everything above is essential or first-party, there is no consent banner to dismiss. You can clear your browser's storage at any time; you will simply be signed out and drafts will be forgotten. Blocking Stripe's cookies may prevent checkout from working.
